Entry and
Starting Procedures |
Register with the committee boat at the start. To register
you give your name and the type of boat you are racing. The starting leg
is always to windward so check the off wind buoy to find the committee
boat.
Flags are used to start the race. Watch the flags.

Points System |
| |
Boats are handicapped according
to their class. A standard multiplier is applied to each boat's actual
time to render it comparable to the adjusted times of other boats.
After each race, boats will be awarded race points on its position at
the finish: |

Rules |

Opposite Track |
When two boats are on opposite tracks, the
port track boat must keep clear. |
|
Same Track |
When two boats are on the same track :
the windward boat keeps clear
the boat fully astern keeps clear of the boat ahead
|

Right of Way at Buoys |
When two boats round a buoy :
Inside boat at an off wind buoy.
Windward boat at a windward buoy.

Penalties |
|
At the Start |
A boat crossing the start before the signal
must keep clear of other boats and start again. |
|
At the Buoys |
A boat which touches a buoy must sail clear
of other boats and do two turns (720) before reentering the race. |
|
Contacting other Boats |
Touching another boat disqualifies both boats
unless one boat assumes fault and does two turns (720) before reentering
the race. |
